A display of some of the first works to be acquired by GOMA as part of the Art Fund International scheme and its partnership with The Common Guild.
The acquisitions featured in this exhibition are by two diverse American artists: seven iconic photographic prints by Peter Hujar (1934-1987) and a video installation, ‘Everything I Need’, 2007, by Matthew Buckingham (b.1963).
Art Fund International is one of the most important and ambitious schemes The Art Fund has ever launched. The scheme is funding the creation of collections of international contemporary art over five years, whilst encouraging a radical change in the scale and ambition of contemporary art collecting in the UK.
