In advance of his exhibition with The Common Guild in 2017, artist Steven Claydon talks about the development of his work as part of our 'Primers' series. Introduced by Dr Dominic Paterson, Lecturer in History of Art at the University of Glasgow.

Currently one of four artists shortlisted for the first Hepworth Prize for Sculpture, Steven Claydon took part in 'The Persistence of Objects' curated by The Common Guild for Lismore Castle Arts in 2015. Claydon (b. 1969 in London) lives and works in London and has worked in music and video as well as sculpture, his work being shown internationally, including recent solo exhibitions at the Centre d'Art contemporain, Geneva and Bergen Kunsthall in 2015.
