Still from ‘A Woman Under the Influence’ by John Cassavetes.

The Common Guild with Glasgow Film Theatre present 'Crossing the Line', a series of screenings that celebrate the crossover between visual art and cinema.

The films are selected by Corin Sworn, Duncan Campbell and Hayley Tompkins, the three artists participating in Scotland + Venice 2013, and chosen for their influence on the artists’ practice.

Corin Sworn selects ‘Khalil, Shaun, A Woman Under the Influence’ (1998) by Sharon Lockhart, a film in three parts. The first two sections refer to make-up tests, often used in the making of Hollywood films, and the third section is a dramatic sequence based on a scene from the film A Woman Under the Influence by John Cassavetes. This is followed by John Cassavetes 1974 film.
